It was early in 1986, I had just moved to Burlington VT from Seattle, had been there about 2 weeks and was feeling really sorry for myself - thought I had moved to the middle of nowhere and totally away from any modern culture, especially music. WRONG - saw a poster for a Friday night gig at a local club, went solo, and the band was Michael on his tenor and EWI, Mike Stern, Kenny Kirkland (also no longer with us), Adam Nussbaum, and a killer bass player whose name eludes me at this point. Those boys blew me out the door, I'll never forget that night.
We'll miss you Michael -
