My mother turns 87 today. I went to hang with her at the nursing home. She was doing much better than I've seen in a long time.
Her wheels started comin' off in the fall of 2004. I moved her and Pop here from Florida back in 2007, and now she's been in long-term care for more than a year. My Dad finally died back in May, as some of you know. We miss the old Flight Commander.

FYI: Browser recommendations
I recommend Safari (the quickest loading) or the Firefox browser for the best blog viewing experience. They work under both Windows and Mac OS. Internet Explorer just doesn't cut it for viewing photo and graphics-heavy websites and blogs. UPDATE: Google now offers their free beta "Chrome" browser. It's also quite good (I installed it for comparison testing), and runs on Macs, PCs, and Linux machines. ________

Around Town: Live, friends of Santa Fe. Click the links to check their gig schedules.
Kurt Kolstad is my dear friend, a crazy fine performer and writer with whom I had the honor of gigging 35 years ago in Seattle (cat could most certainly play with Santa Fe). He is a wonderful person who has been battling lymphoma for a number of years now. If you can contribute any amount (via US Bank) to help defray his huge and mounting medical expenses, it would be appreciated beyond words (click his pic for details). -BobbyG
