FRIDAY: IMHO UPDATE

The continuing saga of what counts as "news" in the Vegas MSM:
NORM: Band lawsuit latest tumult for rocker

It has been a rough week for Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.

He has been slapped around by Kid Rock and pummeled in court by two of his longtime band-mates, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx.

A lawsuit by Mars and Sixx is threatening the fragile truce between the band-mates, who reunited about three years ago and have tours planned for Europe and the United States.

Mars and Sixx filed the lawsuit against Carl Stubner, Lee's former manager, seeking $20 million in lost revenues because Lee decided to pursue two reality TV shows rather than tour.

Lee announced he was resigning from the band he co-founded in 1980, but he retracted the resignation on Thursday.

Las Vegas resident Vince Neil, the band's frontman, said Thursday that he was not part of the lawsuit.

"I was totally against it. It has nothing to do with me," he said by telephone from Maryland.

Lee, in a statement Thursday, said, "I am a founding member of Mötley Crüe. I have tried to meet with my band-mates repeatedly without success but have informed them that I'm not walking away from my band of 25 years...
One classy dude, 'eh?

Not so much as one word of entertainment reportage today on the Flamenco show in either the R-J or the Sun.
