October 5th gig at The Palms

THE EAGLE FLIES ON MONDAYS...

Actually, that big bald eagle was flying yesterday, somewhere in the wilds of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan west of Marquette. We were driving back to Minneapolis for my return flight home after my sister's birthday party, when my nephew David spotted him/her in a tree about 70 feet up. We stopped and I managed to squeeze off a few shots. Wow. Magnificent. That has to be about a 5-6 ft wingspan.

Our resident musical eagles soar again tonight, 10:30 pm in the Lounge at The Palms. Free show as always. Opening guest guitarist tonight is the esteemed Michael Lent. See y'all tonight.

POST-GIG REPORT

Props to Mike Lent for sitting in to open the show for Jerry. He played on Esta Noche, Brother to Brother, Ronsanna, and Negrita, throwing down some blazing rides that the crowd really dug.

Yeah, man, very cool...

Some other tunes of note in the show list tonight: Love Jungle, Ev'rybody Wants to Love You, You Don't Know Me, Soul, Trilogy, You Need a Hero, Living For The City.

Phil Wigfall was again on fire.

One intense cat on alto sax. Below, Chick Corea's son Thad with Pepe backstage.

More scenes from a hang:

Thanks to everyone for coming out tonight! Without you, we are nothing.

ERRATA

Below, Lake Superior, about 300 yds from my sister's house. When I got to Marquette, it was 37 and howling and soggy. This was the scene on Friday.

Below: this ironman cat was kite surfing the breakers.

Above, my beautiful nieces, Sarah (L) and April (R, who some of you may know from back when she stayed with us). Below, we went to look at a litter of 11 "Golden Doodle" puppies on Saturday (Chocolate Poodle & Golden Retriever mix). Carole's getting one. This one was bored by our attention.

Below, another of my Michigan bald eagle shots. That was an awesome encounter.

OK, Cuz Jojo sent me this YouTube link. Check out this Bad Boy, from Italy, Fabio Valdemarin.
