Tonight we welcome the fabulous Michael Grimm to the band

Lenny is off to the mountains for the summer to pursue his other passion as a fly fishing instructor and guide. In his place we are blessed to have our friend the incredible performer Michael Grimm. It will be fabulous, no doubt. Add yet another soulful facet to the excellence we are privileged to routinely witness.

From Michael's MySpace page:
"Raised in the swamplands of Hancock County, Mississippi by his grandparents, Michael Grimm emerges from extremely humble beginnings to become a singing/songwriting/guitar-playing triple-threat of talent. He got his first taste of national success when, at age sixteen, he released the hit song John Wayne and Jesus earning him the CCMA Star of Tomorrow award in 1997. After several years of hard work on his sound, he arrives now with a huge catalog of meticulously crafted songs and a mature, soulful delivery unmatched by anyone on the market today."

UPDATE: Cleto and his cats are in town (Jimmy Kimmel Show band), and will probably come and hang and sit in during the 2nd show. Oh, yeah!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISSY

My Sissy would have turned 39 today.

She would have been grousing about the prospect of turning 40, no doubt, LOL! She'd have also been hangin' at the Santa Fe gig, no doubt.

Sweet Sissy Sue

She was Fire and Ice,
She was Sugar and Spice.
She was all things Naughty
And everything nice.
Hick-town ingenue,
So Hollywood hip,
She could Rock Your World
With a shot from that lip.

Sweet Sissy Sue,
We gonna miss ya, Girl.
A toast to you,
We hope you’re flyin’ high.
Things ain’t the same,
Wish we could kiss ya, Girl.
We sure do miss ya, Girl,
Sweet Sissy Sue.

She was Beauty times twice,
Picture perfect precise.
Had the ultimate plan
Known as rollin’ the dice.
She was hot jalapeno,
Angel cake and ice cream,
Daddy’s prodigal worry,
Ev’ry studpuppy’s dream.

Sweet Sissy Sue,
We gonna miss ya, Girl.
A toast to you,
We hope you’re flyin’ high.
Things ain’t the same,
Wish we could kiss ya, Girl.
We sure do miss ya, Girl,
Sweet Sissy Sue.

Sweet Sissy Sue,
We gonna miss ya, Girl.
Cheers from your crew,
We’ll see you bye and bye.
Never be the same,
Damn sure do miss ya, Girl, but
We won’t forget our Sweet,
Sweet Sissy Sue.
