O/T- Tommy Bahama Inaugural Desert Lights Classic

My daughter Danielle is Executive Director of The First Tee of Southern Nevada, our local non-profit youth golf organization (part of the national organization). I'm posting this FYI regarding their upcoming fundraising golf tournament on March 23rd, in case any of you duffers would like to participate. It's a great cause.

Aloha,

Tommy Bahama - Las Vegas is proud to announce that its Inaugural Desert Lights Classic Charity Golf Tournament will be for the benefit of "The First Tee of Southern Nevada". It will be held at TPC Summerlin on Monday, March 23rd, 2009.

For those of you who don't know The First Tee of Southern Nevada, it is a program for youth that provides learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. By introducting kids to the game of golf and the life-long values it teaches such as honesty, integrity, and good sportsmanship, The First Tee opens doors and gives kids a vision to achieve things they thought not possible.

Fifty-two percent (52%) of parents whose children participate in this program have observed improvement in their child's grades; 66 % have seen increased social abilities; and 74% believe that their child's communication skills and sense of responsibility has improved. In 2006 a University of Virginia research project that studied the impact of youth participating in The First Tee indicated that more than 90% of The First Tee participants transfer life skills to school, home and work and gain tools that help them more effectively manage the emotional ups and downs of their lives.

Obviously we are very excited about The First Tee of Southern Nevada and are very excited about becoming the 11th of our 12 Tommy Bahama Islands (home to both a retail store and a restaurant) to have an annual golf tournament. We not only hope that you will attend, but that you might contribute to this fundraising event by donating to our silent and/or live auctions that will take place at the Celebration Cocktail Party and Dinner at our Tommy Bahama Bar & Grill at Town Square Las Vegas following the tournament itself. You will find more information attached. We look forward to seeing you on the 23rd!

Mahalo,
Chris Mazza, General Manager
