Don't waste money in Las Vegas

So sayeth the President.

LOL, ok, the papers have been on fire with this latest little diss-Vegas dustup. The Mayor is apoplectic, all red-faced, spitting in his martinis. Senator Reid is clutching his pearls...

Solution? Simple. It's known as the Tropicana Las Vegas... :)

Problem solved. (Click the image) The best entertainment value out there, period. Unrivaled anywhere on the planet.

PROPS TO JOHN KATSILOMETES

Great plug for us in his column today:
Trop-a-rama

Appearing onstage with Santa Fe and The Fat City Horns at Tropicana's Tiffany Theatre, which my new Monday night revival, were Clint Holmes and Earl Turner, singing together on "Wishing Well." It was a terrific surprise...

Thanks, Johnny Kats.

More to come. Stay tuned...

THURSDAY NOTES

Tonight, in the lounge at The Trop, Christine La Fond's fine band Odyssey will throw down starting at 9 pm. Also, Tony Davich and his cats in Phoenix will be back at the Las Vegas Country Saloon (Fremont St) delivering their blistering brand of Classic Rock. A good night for great music.

OYDSSEY GIG

They sounded fine, and I guess Lee Ann (Trop VP of Entertainment) was impressed. She's booking them for future dates in the Celebration Lounge.

It's not a viable photoshoot environment. One rack of floods out front, no white spots, no backlighting. No getting the red/pink-ish hue outa those shots in post-processing. Believe me, I tried.

But, that's my problem. This is a fine, fine band. Christine is a total pro. Amazing vocalist, completely poised. Their group vocals are right on the money, too, and the band is way tight.
